Again and again and again

I am not a huge Myers-Briggs aficionado, but one of the things that has stuck with me about NT personality types (of which I am one) is that they don’t like repeating themselves.

“I said ‘I love you’ last week! What, you want me to say it again?”

Actually, I have no problem throwing out “I love yous” like the candy that was tossed all over the street at The Big Parade at the Maine Lobster Festival last weekend.

Once you know the question

A mentor I once worked with required her clients to come with questions.

She wasn't the person to go to when you needed to talk things out. She didn't want to hear the ideas, the works-in-progress, or the emotional processing, and she definitely didn't want to hear the whining.

Instead, you showed up with a distinct, discrete question. If you didn't offer a question and instead launched into a bunch of context and backstory, you would be politely interrupted and asked to formulate a question.

I am not sure if I slept much last night.

I remember looking at the clock a few times and being surprised at what it said. I don't know why I was surprised.

I dreamed a lot. But the last dream wasn't really a dream. It was a work session. It laid out for me, in nerdy, procedural detail, a project that I was supposed to do, and exactly how I was supposed to do it.

Finding the feeling

One morning before dawn, I rolled over, grabbed my phone, and posted on social media.

I wrote that if I ever started a local landscaping company, I would call it "Atplanta."

Then, I started my day. Hours later, I had completely forgotten that I had created and shared this silly pun on my city's name, and it made me laugh when I came across it again.
